How are people animating lifting skirts by the model when the skirt has physics?

I have seen quite a few videos where models lift up their own skirts in videos over the past few months and I have tried to do this but it never turns out the same way.
is it a morph? rigid bodies? outside parenting? I actually have tried all these and none turn out right.

If you aren't sure what I mean this is the most recent one I have seen:

It looks so good compared to what I have done.
If anyone knows where I can find a tutorial (or wants to make a tutorial) that would be great. I definitely would appreciate it.
The closest I've gotten so far is morphs but it doesn't look the same.

Thank you very much. I don't think I would have found this without your help.

Did you try making gravity pull upward? (Of course, it your hair has physics it will also be affected.)

or just turn physics off and animate each bone

You can delete SOME of the bodies and joints responcible for them (be careful there and look which ones you cut out beacuse if a body dissapears but the joint connected with it stays, the skirt will become messy). They have to be the ones that affect the part of the skirt you want to be raised or pinched. Then you can animate the "cleaned" part of the skirt using it's bones while other parts will still flap around normally
