Ren'Py is a visual novel engine. It updates the dialogue boxes when the game player clicks the mouse: https://www.pcgamer.com/the-best-visual-novel-engines/
AviUtl is an after effect software used by many Japanese MMD creators. It updates the on-screen texts at pre-selected frame numbers: https://learnmmd.com/http:/learnmmd.com/aviutl-video-editing-software-an...
I need something halfway between Ren'Py and AviUtl, for a planned parody video at YouTube:
1. I want visual novel look-alike text boxes, updated at pre-selected frames/timings.
2. I want the text boxes to be non-transparent, so I can place them ontop of the current hardsubs. (The parody won't work unless the current hardsubs are completely hidden).
3. I preferably want the textboxes to be Christmas themed. (Hopefully someone has made a package with a dozen premade text box styles, one of which is Christmas themed?)
Does anyone know if there exists an add-on package for AviUtl with such text boxes? Or are there other more suitable softwares than AviUtl for this? If so, which ones?
